Filmen er både eksperimentell og avant-garde, og blander dokumentar og iscenesatt drama i en hybrid form. Filmen undersøker det urbane landskapet og menneskene som lever i det. Den brasilianske regissøren Cavalcanti uttrykker sin intensjon ved filmstart: "Dette er ikke en fremstilling av det moteriktige og elegante livet...men av hverdagslivet til de ydmyke, de undertrykte." Vi tas med til de miserable stedene i Paris, samtidig som vi møter fem karakterer i de dramatiserte scenene.

Filmen anses som den første av bysymfoniene, som angivelig inspirerte Dziga Vertov i hans produksjon av THE MAN WITH THE MOVIE CAMERA.

Kinsella er artistnavnet til Bjørk-Guinevere Kinsella Eide, en talentfull musiker kjent for sitt vakre og spennende lydlandskap som sømløst blander elementer fra hennes mangfoldige musikalske bakgrunn. Hun har en mastergrad i klassisk piano og studerer for tiden Live Electronics ved Norges Musikkhøgskole. Kinsella ble presentert som en del av talentprogrammet Cloud Exit under Insomnia 2022

Elfrida er artistnavnet til Grete-Johanne Torvholm, som er både musiker, sangskriver, musikkprodusent, tekniker og komponist. Elfrida ønsker lytteren velkommen til et musikalsk univers som veksler på grensen til pop, sterkt påvirket av det elektroniske landskapet, kombinert med hennes åpenhjertige stemme og vokalproduksjon. Hun hevder at musikk er hva følelser høres ut som, og det oppstår et sted mellom sjelen og det underbevisste.

Filmkonserten NOTHING BUT TIME arrangeres i samarbeid med Insomniafestivalen og deres talentprogram Cloud Exit som skal gi nye nordnorske musikere muligheten til å eksperimentere med og utvikle sine ferdigheter innen elektronisk musikk. Kinsella & Elfrida er to av talentene fra 2022 og har hatt musiker Gaute Barlindhaug som mentor gjennom perioden.

The film is both experimental and avant garde, and blends documentary and staged drama in a hybrid form. We are examining the urban landscape and the people who inhabit it. Brazilian director, Cavalcanti, states his mission in the beginning of NOTHING BUT TIME: “This is not a depiction of the fashionable and elegant life ... but of the everyday life of the humble, the downtrodden." We follow the miserable places of Paris, and at the same time we meet five characters in the dramatized scenes.

The film is considered the first of the city symphonies, which reputedly inspired Dziga Vertov in his making of THE MAN WITH THE MOVIE CAMERA.

ABOUT THE MUSICANS

Kinsella, born Bjørk-Guinevere Kinsella Eide, is a talented musician known for her beautiful and exciting soundscapes that seamlessly blend fragments from her diverse musical background. She holds a master's degree in classical piano and is currently pursuing studies in Live Electronics at the prestigious Norwegian Academy of Music. Kinsella was presented as part of the Cloud Exit talent programme at Insomnia 2022.

Elfrida is the artist name of Grete-Johanne Torvholm, who is both a musician, songwriter, music producer, technician and composer. Elfrida welcomes the listener to a musical universe that fluctuates on the borderline of pop, heavily influenced by the electronic landscape, combined with her candor voice and vocal production. She states music is what emotions sound like, and it emerges from somewhere between the soul and the subconscious.

The film concert NOTHING BUT TIME is organized in collaboration with the Insomnia Festival and their talent program Cloud Exit, which aims to give new musicians from Northern Norway the opportunity to experiment and develop their skills in electronic music. Kinsella and Elfrida are two of the 2022 talents and had musician Gaute Barlindhaug as a mentor throughout the period.
