FASHION OR COSTUME: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
- Tilhører tema:
- Fransk mote på film
As part of the film series "Fransk mote på film" (French fashion in films) Verdensteatret will also host conversations connected to the film screenings.
Both costume designer Edith Head and fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy collaborated on making FUNNY FACE's costumes. This begs the question of their respective role, and ultimately of what the difference between fashion and costume is. This conversation will take as a departure point the costumes of the four films screened as part of Fransk mote på film. Tromsø-based costume and fashion designers will talk about their practice, and how the two both intersect and diverge.
The participants in this conversations is Rune Nilssen and Kate Maxwell. Rune Nilssen has worked in multiple aspects of the fashion industry since he in 2004 completed his BA in Fashion Promotion & Illustration at The University of Creative Arts (Epsom, England). Kate Maxwell is professor of music history at UiT - The Arctic University of Norway. She works primarily on music in multimodal contexts, both medieval and modern. Nina Erdahl will make a guest appearance.
The conversation will be held in english and lead by Johanna Zanon.
